back from chalet @ east coast. arh nite cycling was fun and my butt somehow survived :) layed hearts and daidee and more cards. but it's best to be back at home, nuah-ing on me bed instead of the sandy floor in the chalet haha.

woohoo it'll be the new year soon and off goes 2008. maybe it's time to reflect and see wat constructive things i have done in 2008. lol i tink i have more bad stuff lor. hmm...

"Class outing"

haha todae went lakeside for "class outing". apparently only 7 ppl made it. lol but it was still kinda fun esp daidee. was asshole for umpteen turns -.-

anw was fascinated by the myriad of stuff available at jurong point. guess after its revamp it has become one of the most hip places in town haha. too bad its darn far from home, if not i would visit it more often.

well, its another lonely christmas eve and quiet christmas. been having such christmases; at home doing nth lol.

(P.S. i changed the theme song for the blog coz it's christmas so must hav a bit of atmosphere lol)

been sneezing like mad todae. snortz i HATE my nose coz of stupid sinus. wth. darn. sigh...

My chest hurts

went to the doc todae for x-ray. found out that the left side of my side is abnormal coz the bone's protruding out. well apparently i can have special concessions for ns.

dunno whether i shld be happy or nt. this all seems funny. got a defect in my body that can give me a slacker ns but i feel like a chicken if i become a slacker. haha.

Twilight

the twilight glow of the sky charmed me. soon the new moon would arrive, but the arcane night will be eclipsed by the beauty of breaking dawn; light from the midnight sun showering on the lands.

well it's damn cool to work in a lab dealing with gene regulation and induction of pluripotency. cant say my attachment was all science XP the 5 kids assigned to GIS are CRAZY.

yup this attachment is ending soon (actually tmr's the last day) and i am starting to miss my monotonous, mundane, routine lab work XP well, it is a meaningful and enriching experience to be at GIS doing stuff, mingling with ex-Harvards, Cambridges etc. haha. lol todae my mentor juz asked me why am i still coming coz i alr finished all my work. i laughed.

i tink i will miss that lab coat that looks like an apron, along with the pipette and EXTREMELY sterile tissue culture room. haha and of course the radio above my seat in the lab ;) juz to share a bit of my work, here are some pics i took of my MEFs becoming iPSCs.









see the diff? the pic above shows the iPSC colony with its refractive look and well-defined borders whereas the pic below shows the original MEFs juz 2 days after retroviral infection of Sox2, Oct4 and Klf4.

heehee i lurve my cells coz i am a great father :)

Procrastinating

erps i have been procrastinating. homeworks piling up, along with reports to write. this is nonsense. according to wiki, the psychological causes of procrastination vary greatly, but generally surround issues of anxiety, low sense of self worth, and a self-defeating mentality. Procrastinators are also thought to have a higher-than-normal level of conscientiousness, more based on the "dreams and wishes" of perfection or achievement in contrast to a realistic appreciation of their obligations and potential.
